mCLASS®:DIBELS®

This year, the District has implemented the use of a Palm handheld solution called mClass to facilitate DIBELS testing. This solution is provided by Wireless Generation and it will allow data collection using the Palm handheld. Collected data is uploaded to the Progress Monitoring and Reporting Network (PMRN), once the device is synchronized with a properly configured computer. This site will have current information and updates to assist school sites with deployment.



Best Practices for Using the Palm Handheld Device with DIBELS Assessments:

1. Please do not personalize the Palm with custom settings and passwords.
2. If you have not removed your DADEUSER account from the Palm, please ask your technician to remove it so that only the actual ATM’s name appears.
3. In order to ensure the integrity of the testing, do not use the same username for all Palms at your location.
4. Sync Palms each morning during the testing window to receive all updates, and at the end of the day if any assessments were recorded.
5. For optimal efficiency only assign students from the classes that will be assessed on that day on the individual Palm. Syncs containing in excess of 100 students’ testing data may result in long or incomplete uploads.
6. If your site is having network/Internet issues during the testing window, you can sync the Palms at another site.
